How to Shampoo Your Wig

We may shampoo the original hair once every three days to keep it clean and lustrous. Human hair wig is different, just once a week will be perfect because it does not have its own source of nutrition although it is also human hair. Washing human hair frequently will cause hair dry and knotted, shampooing once a week will not dry out the hair. Human hair wigs are expensive so they worth good care.

When you wash your lace wig you should detangle the hair with a wide tooth and comb from ends to the top, make sure the hair is silky and easy to wash. Before washing the hair, turn the lace cap outside and clean it. Then sink the hair into warm water mix shampoo, remember not hot water, because hot water will be harmful to the hair. Use your finger comb the hair gently instead of rubbing it vigorously to help shampoo build up. After that, in order to keep the hair moisture, you may use cold water to rinse the wig until the shampoo is all gone. Next, deep condition your wig, use leave-in conditioner and let the wig sit for 30 minutes so that the moisture get into the hair. 30 minutes later, rinse the wig with cold water. After shampooing, squeeze the water out gently, put the hair on dry towel and roll the towel to a tight bundle so that the towel can absorb moisture from your hair quickly. Then drying your wig, I strongly recommend you dry your hair natural not use blow-dryer because blow-dryer may damage your hair and shortened lifespan of your wig. But if you are going out in hurry, you can choose blow-dryer to dry your wig.

I’d like to stress again that don’t shampoo your wig frequently, it’s best to shampoo your wig once a week. But if you don’t have enough time, at least once or twice a month.
